Real Madrid qualified for the 2021-2022 Champions League final after winning 3-1 extra time against Manchester City, with a saving double from Rodrygo Goes, this Wednesday in the semi-final lap at Santiago Bernabéu. Real Madrid will face each other in the grand final on 28 May in Paris at Liverpool, which the previous day had won 3-2 in Villarreal in the other semifinal.

In search of a goal, Real Madrid went from the beginning to look for the goal of Ederson, in front of a City that tried to take the ball and lower the revolutions to the game. After a first part in which the two teams were annulled.

After the break the white team returned with one more march, but when it seemed that was closer the goal of Real Madrid came the goal of the City. Bernardo Silva received only in the middle of the field to advance and put a ball to the right where Mahrez seemed to put the ball by the squad of Thibaut Courtois to the minute 73'.

The goal was a blow for the merengue team that now needed two goals to send the ball to overtime. The merengues did not lower their arms, pushed by their stadium which still believed in a miracle that came when Rodrygo finished in first place a pass by Benzema in the 90th minute. Just a minute later, the young Brazilian, who had gone to Toni Kroos in '68, pushed through the squad a 90+1 Carvajal center to send the elimination to overtime.

Just as the extra time was beginning, Rubén Dias shot down Karim Benzema in the area, causing a penalty that transformed the Frenchman himself in the minute 94', which certified the pass of Real Madrid to the Champions League final. Merengues dream of 14. Coincidentally, the last Champions League that the white team won was against Liverpool, the other finalist, in 2018 in Kiev.
