On January 11, 2024, the first international trailer for “Back to Black” was published, the biographical film about Amy Winehouse, the artist who revolutionized the world of music with her voice and style, but who also suffered the consequences of fame, addictions and personal problems.

The film, directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson, known for her work in “Nowhere Boy” and “Fifty Shades of Grey”, stars Marisa Abela, a young British actress who will make her big screen debut with this role. Abela achieved an impressive transformation to embody Winehouse, from her physical appearance to her way of singing and expressing herself.

“Back to Black” is named after one of Winehouse's most famous songs, which is from her second and final studio album, released in 2006. The film will explore the singer's musical career, from her beginnings in jazz to her consecration with the Grammy Award, as well as her stormy relationship with Blake Fielder-Civil, played by Jack O'Connell, and her difficult bond with her family and the media.
