BMW and Amazon make alliance for a new car

Science & Technology 12/01/2022

The CES 2022 is doing a lot of good. It seems that manufacturers are constantly bringing out new products, especially after the pandemic. And among the more curious things they offer us, BMW and Amazon have teamed up with the intention of putting huge TVs inside cars. We will see if this trend is followed by other manufacturers, but until then, we will show you the huge 8K screen that BMW wants to install in their vehicles.

The manufacturers of multimedia equipment have been aiming, during the last years, to put the cinema in our living room. And now, apparently, they want to do the same, but in our cars.

At CES we see all kinds of technology. From the one that wants to become best sellers, to demonstrations of the technological capacity of a firm, passing by curiosities whose usefulness in the day to day leaves us scratching our heads. No one can predict the future, but, for now, the idea of BMW and Amazon seems within the latter type.

Basically, it’s about introducing a huge 8K TV so that passengers in the back seats can enjoy the cinema during the journeys by car. Or at least enjoy until the gigantic blind spots and the futility of the mirror continue to allow traffic without accidents.

Yes, we already know that, today, the cameras can make up for the lack of mirrors (when they work), so BMW has introduced its Theatre Screen, a smart television of no less than 31 inches, 8K resolution and 32:9 aspect ratio, perfect for streaming and games.

In this alliance we also have Amazon who, knowing that their Fire TV has a tough competition in the living rooms, tries to overtake on the right when putting them in our cars, with Alexa included, of course.
